EBI STAFF

Luis is a graduate of Jamaica School of Preaching and American Christian Bible College. At the beginning of his ministry, there were 16 congregations, dedicated to pastoral training and evangelization in his native country, Cuba, eventually establishing nearly 120 congregations throughout the country. He currently resides in Nebraska.

Carlos Ulate is a tenured professor at UNA (Universidad Nacional de Costa Rica). He designs the course content, scheduling, and structure.  Carlos assures that our curriculum maintains a world-class scholastic level.   He currently preaches at the Church of Christ in Heredia, San Jose, Costa Rica.  He started preaching in 1979 in San Jose and was a missionary in Honduras from 1988 to 1993. He graduated from the University of Florida and studied theology under Ronaldo McClung in Costa Rica and also studied in Gainesville Florida. For over twelve years, he worked with Truth For Today (www.biblecourses.com)  as a translator.   Carlos recently changed to being a part-time professor so that he could devote more time to the Lord’s work. He is currently supported by the Bammel Church of Christ in Houston and St. Mary’s County Church of Christ in Maryland to support his mission work in Costa Rica. 

Juan Carlos Garcia Valle is a full-time minister in Las Juagitas, Managua, Nicaragua. He graduated 2018 Valedictorian from the Baxter Institute in Honduras.   Juan Carlos is our Director of Promotion and Recruitment. He also, helps Carlos in our curriculum development and is involved in holding weekly Bible studies that are a part of our program.  He brings a lot of talent to the program with his education, contacts and experience.  

 Humberto Antonio Cardeñas Chacon is one of the newer members of our team. Is lives and works in El Salvador as a Teacher and Preacher. “Chacon” helps promote EBI in and around El Salvador and he also makes one or two mission trips to Cuba each year. He is a valued addition to our team. 

Rocky Castleberry is a graduate of Texas A&M University. As a student he was active in the Aggies For Christ program and has since served as a deacon, teacher and preacher. He ran successful businesses in real estate and development, as well as published a few books.  Rocky arrived in Costa Rica in 2012, where he now lives full-time and his focus is growing the church. He founded EBI in the fall of 2020 and is blessed to be part of the EBI team that continues to be amazed at how God is directing their efforts.
